Gr. G. Patsalosavvis Architecture + Design
Gr. G. Patsalosavvis Architecture + Design is an award‑winning practice with extensive experience in architectural design and a long‑standing commitment to environmental sustainability.
Founded in 1993 in London by Gregorios Patsalosavvis, the studio has been permanently based in Cyprus since 1996, continuing its work both locally and internationally.
The practice engages with projects across all scales — from intimate interior interventions and private houses to residential developments, commercial buildings, public facilities, hotels, and broader urban design. Each commission is approached with the same professional ethos, guiding the process from initial concept through detailed design, coordination, and on‑site completion.
Over the years, the studio’s work has been recognized, published, and awarded at local and international levels, reflecting a consistent dedication to clarity, performance, and thoughtful architectural expression.
“Architecture immortalizes and glorifies something. Hence there can be no architecture where there is nothing to glorify.”
- Wittgenstein
Studio Approach and Philosophy
The studio’s approach is grounded in the understanding that contemporary architecture must respond to the technological, social, and economic conditions of its time. Each project begins with a clear reading of context, program, and human experience, forming a framework that guides the design process with purpose and restraint.
Buildings are conceived as envelopes that accommodate needs, activities, and intimate patterns of living. Materiality and technique are treated as intelligent, adaptable systems rather than formal gestures — systems that support performance, longevity, and spatial clarity while allowing each project to evolve with precision.
Exterior and interior spaces are understood as interconnected environments. The building engages the city and landscape, while the domestic space engages the body and everyday life. This relationship shapes an architecture that is both grounded and responsive, capable of adapting to changing conditions while maintaining a consistent commitment to clarity and thoughtful design.
